Zanskar - The Forgotten Valleys
We’re excited to offer a brand new tour in 2027 into one of the most untouched regions in the Indian Himalayas. Zanskar is a remote corner of Ladakh, with huge mountain landscapes, ancient Buddhist monasteries carved into the hills, traditional villages and some properly adventurous roads.
On this tour we will be taking our riders from Shimla in the foothills of the Himalayas, over Jalori Pass to Manali and then deep into Zanskar & Nubra Valleys. After a mid-way stop in the ancient city of Leh, we will ride across Khardung La Pass towards the high-altitude lakes of eastern Ladakh. We will explore Nubra Valley, a high-altitude cold desert where white sand dunes meet snow-capped Himalayan peaks, before heading towards Hanle, Pangong and Tsomoriri lakes. In the course of the journey we will cross 10 high passes, some of which are amongst the highest in the world.
This will be a challenging ride in places and we will also spend several nights above 4,000m altitude so a good level of riding ability & experience as well as general fitness is required. We’ll be riding Royal Enfield Himalayan 450s, which are much better suited to this kind of terrain.
The Manali–Leh section is a framework and may change depending on road and weather conditions. One thing’s for sure – this will be a unique and seriously exciting Himalayan adventure.
If you have any enquiries about our Zanskar tour, please email us. If you wish to book go to our online booking form. A full tour itinerary will be emailed at your request.
