Meet the Team: Sanju

One of the integral members of our team is Sanjeev (Sanju), our driver and all around fixer. He has been a key part of our operations for 15 years now and is a vital presence on our tours. From organising sim cards for clients to making sure that all your gear is secure in the back-up vehicle he is always there for you, keeping a watchful eye on everything.

After many years of supporting our mechanic Imran, as well as owning his own Royal Enfield Bullet, he has become a skilled fixer of motorbikes while on the road. Sanju loves photography and you’ll often see him behind the camera on our tours, taking photos of our riders and the scenery. Many of the beautiful photos on our website and social media were taken by him.

Sanju hails from the Himachal Pradesh village of Pragpur but spends a great deal of his time in Delhi. His side gig is driving the luxury Delhi to Manali bus which he does when he is not on tour with us. He is an integral part of our operation with his quiet, understated humour and wisdom.

We asked Sanju a few questions about himself and these are his answers…

Q: What is your favourite place to visit on all of our tours and why?

It’s difficult to say but I like Spitti Valley in the Himalayas & Ranakpur in Rajasthan because I like peace.

Q: What is your favourite food on the road?

Chana masala or roti with butter. And doodh jalebi.

Q: If you could jump on your motorbike right now and go anywhere in India or Nepal where would you go?

I’ll go to the mountains - Spitti Valley and then Jhanskar (Zanskar) or to Kerala in South India.

Q: What do you like about being part of the Indian Motorcycle Adventures crew?

I feel proud.

Q: Coffee or chai?

Chai.

Q: What’s your favourite thing to do when you’re not working?

Do nothing 😂

Q: Do you have any advice for someone visiting India for the first time?

Just try to understand and feel the difference.
